
Trent Ezzell, PT, MPT Physical Therapist/Owner Performance Specialist
Trent graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2002 with a Masters in Physical Therapy. Trent lived and worked in Fort Worth, Texas prior to his move to Colorado. His work history includes pediatric and outpatient orthopedic/ sports physical therapy. Along with his wife, KayLynne, he loves the outdoors and has felt passionate about how outdoor experiences and sport enhance life in a multitude of ways. He has been a trip leader for Adaptive Sports in Crested Butte, and believes in empowering people through improving function and life experience. Trent’s philosophy on physical therapy has evolved to truly treat a client holistically. Through professional and personal mentorship he was inspired to establish Heights Physical Therapy to go beyond a traditional therapy model. Over the past 19 years, he has developed a passion and principle for thorough evaluation and management of the whole person through strengths in biomechanics, functional movement, functional performance of the athlete, sensory motor coordination, and manual therapy. He is committed to improving people’s function and performance in their daily lives and within their passions. He believes that education is powerful, and is committed to encouraging individuals to invest in their health for life long wellness in the midst of pain, injury and age. He is compelled to bridge the gap between rehab and performance and take people to greater levels of function. Trent enjoys challenging cases and working with clients to move them beyond where traditional treatments and therapies have failed, using both his skills and collaboration with other health professionals on the team at Heights and beyond. He enjoys making therapy and performance training fun and enlightening and helping staff and clients achieve and surpass their goals.

KayLynne Ezzell PT, MPT Physical Therapist/ Owner
KayLynne grew up in the Texas panhandle, active in every sport available. She always knew she wanted to make a career out of her passions – people and sports. She graduated in 2001 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Masters in Physical Therapy. KayLynne has enjoyed teaching at the collegiate level in Adapted Physical Education as well as performing guest lectures to increase the awareness, need, and empowerment of individuals with disabilities through adaptive sports. She lived and worked in the Dallas/Fort Worth area prior to making the move to the Gunnison Valley. While in Fort Worth – KayLynne gained clinical experience in a wide array of settings. She worked as an orthopedic therapist, treating sports injuries as well as other musculoskeletal ailments. She was heavily Involved in the corporate setting at Alcon Laboratories, working to improve the education of staff and ergonomics on campus. KayLynne has been an Early Intervention Specialist in Texas and Colorado. She and her husband, Trent, embraced the need to encourage the disabled kids they served to dream big and embrace their abilities. They started the “Lone Star Freestyle Team.” Over a five-year period, KayLynne and Trent raised money to bring groups of disabled children and young adults in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to the Adaptive Sports Ski Program in Crested Butte. KayLynne has currently worked in the Gunnison Valley over the past 14 years in the areas of outpatient orthopedics and pediatrics. She is certified in trigger point dry needling Level I and II and is passionate about injury prevention and rehab back to sport and life. As the co-owner of Heights, serving the Gunnison Valley community is at the forefront of her mind. There is a bigger picture that goes beyond rehabilitating injuries. Encouraging and empowering others is a passion, and leading an outside-the-box, holistic clinic that strives to be at the helm in exemplary private practice is a commitment.
